Ingredients
Scale
- 4 buns (moist and soft)
- 2 chicken breasts (cooked and shredded)
- 200g mozzarella (grated or sliced)
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (or butter)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano (or mixed herbs)
- 1 tablespoon mustard (optional)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise (optional, for extra creaminess)
- 1 tablespoon ketchup (optional, for sweetness)
- 1 clove garlic (minced, optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: Start by cooking the chicken breasts. You can grill, bake, or pan-fry them until fully cooked. Once cooked, shred the chicken using two forks or chop it into small pieces.
- Sauté the onion: In a pan, heat the olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for 2-3 minutes, until softened and slightly golden.
- Mix the filling: In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, sautéed onion, mozzarella, and any optional ingredients like mustard, mayonnaise, or garlic. Season with dried oregano, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix well until all the ingredients are combined.
- Prepare the buns: Cut the buns in half, horizontally. If you prefer, you can lightly toast the inside of the buns in a pan or oven for extra texture and flavor.
- Stuff the buns: Spoon the chicken and mozzarella mixture into the bottom halves of the buns. You can add a little extra mozzarella on top for a cheesier finish.
- Assemble and serve: Place the top half of the buns on top of the stuffed buns, pressing down gently to compact the filling. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for added freshness and color.
- Enjoy: Serve your buns farcis poulet & mozzarella warm and enjoy a delicious, cheesy, and flavorful meal!
